Can contouring injections make the cheekbones or jawbone smaller?
Contouring injections are not surgery and do not change bone shape. They are a treatment for facial lines that have become less defined due to soft tissue, such as fullness around the cheekbones, sagging cheeks, the area below the ears, or a double chin. We first need to determine which factor plays the biggest role: bone, muscle, fat, or skin sagging.
How is it different from square-jaw botulinum toxin or lifting?
The approach differs depending on whether the jaw muscles are well developed, there is excess fat, or the skin is sagging. We do not choose the same injection simply because the face looks large. Through an examination, we identify the cause and determine the necessary treatment scope.
How long does the treatment take, and what is recovery like?
The procedure itself takes under 10 minutes, and a topical anesthetic cream is standard. No hospital stay or stitch removal is required, and you can usually resume daily activities the same day. However, reactions such as bleeding, inflammation, or bruising may occur, and recovery time varies from person to person.
How can I confirm the ingredients used and the number of sessions?
The name 'contouring injection' alone does not tell you the ingredients or dosage. Please confirm the ingredients to be used, the target areas, and the expected reactions during the consultation. Let us know about any previous injection treatments or allergies; whether additional sessions are needed is decided after reviewing your progress.
Can I massage the treated area or apply cosmetics?
Our standard guidance is not to touch or massage the treated area and not to apply alcohol-containing cosmetics right away. Also avoid pressing hard to reduce swelling. If you have persistent pain or signs of inflammation, please let the clinic know.
When can I have laser treatments or peels, or use a sauna?
JAYJUN advises avoiding potentially irritating treatments such as skin lasers and peels for 4 weeks after the procedure. As a rule, avoid saunas and jjimjilbang (Korean spas) for 2–3 days, and alcohol and smoking for 1 week. If you have other treatments scheduled, please coordinate the timing with us first.
