Even if they look brown, the cause, distribution and depth of pigment can differ. We first distinguish widely spread pigment such as melasma from dot-like lesions with clear borders. If several types are present together, we set a treatment goal for each rather than trying to resolve them all at once with one device.
Ellipse I2PL, Helios III Toning, CO2 laser, Clarity and others are considered according to your skin condition. The selection criteria are the type and depth of pigment, the sensitivity of surrounding skin and your response to previous treatments. Improving overall skin tone and removing individual lesions may differ in treatment method and recovery process.
Simply raising the intensity does not produce better results. Pigment can become darker after skin irritation, so treatment must be carried out while watching the skin's response. For melasma in particular, it is important to plan sun protection, lifestyle care and the necessary treatment together.
Some devices, like Clarity, use a cooling function, but anesthesia and recovery guidance differ depending on the treatment area and method. Do not think of toning and mole removal as the same care; please check face washing, makeup and wound care for each. If you have plans, we will also discuss allowing enough time for recovery.
Even after pigment has faded, it can darken again with UV exposure, so consistent protection is necessary. Do not dismiss newly appearing or changed pigment as a simple blemish; please have it examined. Maintenance care is decided according to the type of pigment and its progress.
